Top Secret ::: Super-Clarify Your Hair

Image via Babble

I had this post scheduled for a while now, and almost bailed on posting it after seeing the same tip mentioned on Grace's blog over the weekend, but decided that it's too good not to share anyway.

Test Driven ::: John Frieda Color Refreshing Gloss

All photos by {accordingtoame}

A few weeks back, there were rumblings of a new John Frieda color product hitting shelves just after the new year. Naturally, when I saw that it was a color refreshing gloss, with not one, but two, shades for redheads included in the line, I was excited and intrigued.  I was able to get my hands on a bottle of "Warm Red" and put it to the test.

Major Hair Moment ::: Jennifer Aniston's New 'Do

Rumblings that Jennifer Aniston cut her hair off started about a week ago...and sure enough...it's actually happened.  Oh my hell!  I mean, it's cute and pretty damn flattering.  And from what she says, pretty easy to handle. How could it not be?

Trend Worth Trying::: "The Lob" a la Julianne Hough

File this under "things I never thought I'd say or want to do".

Normally I *hate* anything even resembling short hair, downright despise it, in fact, but when I saw Julianne Hough's cute crop, or even Jennifer Aniston's pre-grow-out, it really caught my eye, and made me think "hmm, I really think I could do that," despite every previous attempt at similar styles making me regret the day I was born.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Goody Quickstyle WaterWicking Comb

I have walked past this Goody comb in Walgreens easily 100 times in the last month and wanted to know if it was worth looking at further (considering it was $8 I couldn't quite talk myself into it). After reading about it in InStyle or Lucky a while back, and some goofy looking brush they also put out with little towel bits worked into it (seriously, that looks like a mold magnet), and finally spotting a few reviews online, like this one on Daly Beauty, I decided that I wanted to try it. And of course by that point, the damn thing is nowhere to be found. Ame, you need to get in on the ground floor.

BRILLIANT. Dolly Curls using a sock!

I was reading the Glamour blog (the magazine's site has a blog for the beauty dept!) today and they were talking about styles using trouser socks. Yes. Socks. Preferably clean.

I clicked one of the links that looked kind of interesting and now I am going to have to try this, though my hair isn't quite as long...BRILLIANT.

Here's one of the clearest tutorials I found:

PRODUCT REVIEW: Wen Cleansing Conditioner

A while back I reviewed this on my wedding forum for the girls there, and since I gave it a 2nd chance recently, I figured I'd rewrite it with an update.

I went into it thinking that it would keep my "natural" red hair brighter and redder longer. At first I really bought into it, though now I just realize I was high. Probably on the "Lavender" smell. Or what the bottle says is Lavender. There's no damn way there's a drop of Lavender anything in this bottle. It's a fakey weird smell. That is not reminiscent of anything floral. Well, maybe silk flowers. From the Dollar Tree.
