Must Have ::: Ocusoft Lid Scrub Pads

Photos: Me of my Ocusoft package

I have a decidedly unglamorous eye condition that often results in little bumps forming on the waterline of my upper eyelid.  One of the equally unglamorous ways my eye doctor has handled that in the past is by lancing them with a stabby sterile object in his office.  That is always something fun to look forward to.

Another slightly less creepy and definitely more appealing solution is the OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Pads that are readily available in an affordable little box of individually wrapped pads via the drugstore eye care aisle.

I have gotten these little bumps for most of my life, and they're apparently common, and if left alone become styes or other unpleasant conditions. Thankfully I have yet to get beyond the little bump stage! They're often formed by oilier eyelids.

I had inquired if using my oil cleansers or my makeup had anything to do with this, and the doctor pretty firmly stated that this is common and makeup and cleansers rarely have any impact on it, it's simply related to the level of oil in the lid, and often that oil plugs up the pores causing these bumps.  One of his suggestions was to very lightly rub one of these pads along the waterline every few days to try to break the oil up a little bit.

On that recommendation, I use one of these pads twice a week, sometimes three times a week. I will wrap it around a finger and run it along the waterline, then wrap a different spot around my finger to do the other eye. Then I rub the same pad around both eyes to clean the lids well. I didn't take a photo of me running it along my waterline, simply because that was nearly impossible since it requires both hands, and I didn't have my second shooter available.

Warning, extreeeeeme barefaced closeup!

I should note that I actually took these photos AFTER a shower, and I clearly did a really bad job removing my makeup because....well...there's still makeup on that pad!  Yikes!

When I use these before a shower, I have literally not a drop of makeup left around my eyes and any dry or flaky patches on my eyelids is eviscerated, which I love, making any eye creams and my Latisse work so much better.

    1. I hadn't either until my eye doctor recommended them. And I will say that since I started using them, I have not had any of the weird bumps at all. So I am glad for that.
