Tech Time ::: NIX Color Sensor

Photos: NIX Sensor Facebook

One of the Kickstarters I didn't back, which ended up with an Indiegogo for Round 2 and I still didn't back, and regret not doing so so much is the NIX Color Sensor

Tech Time ::: GOkey Fob

All images and video via GoKey Indiegogo

Remember how I said I have a problem regarding Kickstarter, and probably should avoid Indiegogo for the same reason? Well, I need to. I really do.  Because poking around on these sites is dangerous. Poking around on Indiegogo caused me to discover the GoKey.

Tech Time ::: SNAP Connectors

 All images, gifs and video kindly provided by the SNAP! team
This is the desk/car mount

As you have picked up on by now, I am a total Kickstarter-slash-gadget dork, and the majority of things I end up backing are in some relation to my phone, either making using my phone more convenient, charge it easier, or using my phone to track something, or track itself...

Tech Time::: Nest Thermostat

This little gizmo, the Nest Thermostat, looks fascinating, and like it would fit in well in a home by Novogratz.  It's a thermostat that will monitor your patterns and adjust to your living accordingly, and is controllable through your smartphone.  My husband and I have both been intrigued by this item for months, after seeing it around the net for a while, and on "I Want That" on DIY Network. We are both trying to justify it to ourselves, even though our current relatively new (6 years old?) thermostat works perfectly fine, and has actually saved us substantially since we installed it not long after moving in.

I probably should stay off of Kickstarter...

I am seriously addicted to Kickstarter. It's becoming an issue. I have an Amazon account strictly to pay for the items I back on there!

I seem to have a tendency to be on a mission for the latest little iPhone gadget, a stand of some kind, an alert bracelet of some kind--something that flashes when you get a message so you can keep your phone in your purse and know if you got a text without checking (if it was not so bulky...), a little contraption to set your phone up in to use a scanning app without having to contort yourself to hold it still...It works on more than just iPhones, it works on a few Android models too, though I believe the app for both variants of the "clap to snap" are still in development, with the iOS variant to come out first.

My latest obsession is this little thing called KeyProp, which comes with a "clap to snap" app.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Case-Mate Vibe for iPhone

Photo credit: Case-Mate.com, Gadgetsin.com

About a month ago my quest for a new iPhone case brought me to the new Case-Mate Vibe. I had read about it online somewhere and it looked interesting bec the silicone part has some kind of curvature to allow the speaker output to amplify itself.  It bends the sound, if you will, so that it's louder.  I thought it might be cool to try out bec maybe Ill be able to hear the ringing better when it's inside the abyss of my bag.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Olloclip Quick Connect Lens for iPhone 4/4s

Photo Credit: Olloclip.com

I got the Olloclip today via FedEx. It was my “we’re sorry you had so much drama with this iPhone 4s situation” offering from Apple, for which I am immensely appreciative... That whole thing is a different story for a different day.   Follow the jump for the review and more pics!

GADGET-GASM: CDMA iPhone might really be coming this year...plus the first 4G phone out on June 4th--SHIT!

I read Boy Genius Report every few days because I like gadgets and despite my stunning good looks (HAH) and svelte physique (HAH HAH) I am really just a total dork. For the last year at least there have been loud rumors going around about the iPhone finally hitting a CDMA Carrier--that carrier being the big red V. (Ignore obvious off-color correlations there for now). It's gone back and forth with how long ATT (henceforth known as the debil) would really have this device exclusively. I still don't entirely believe that the exclusive rights end this year, as I seem to recall it really being 5 years, which would mean at least next year, if not the following. Forgive my math, I'm an idiot.

So imagine my surprise, and not necessarily delight but Ill go with it for now, when I see this post:

Could it really be? ...Inneresting.

GADGET REVIEW: Palm Pre (Sprint)

I have had this phone now for nearly a year (!) which is possibly a new record.  I actually figure out something new on it every day.  It's pretty quick, and pretty easy to figure out.  I know a lot of the nerds that have it or want to bash it complain that the app store is not on par with Apple or the Android Market, but it doesn't have to be, it comes standard with a pretty decent array of things and within about 2 weeks the early adopters had already figured out how to create new apps, Homebrew, if you will.
