Tech Time ::: Steve Jobs

This past Saturday marked the second anniversary of the passing of one of the world's greatest innovators.  His brilliance is simply unmatched, and what he brought to the masses is undeniably incredible. I post this, and do all of my work, really, from one of his many brilliant inventions, a Macintosh computer.

He might not have been the first to bring us the computer, but he brought what is arguably the best and most intuitive, and is certainly the standard, if not a requirement, in the design world.  He wasn't the first to bring us the smartphone, myself and others would say late to the table, even, but he brought us what is arguably the best, and what others strive to be and imitate daily.  It's said that there are still many things in the Apple pipeline that he innovated and we have yet to see, and I, for one, cannot wait to see what those ideas become and how they change our lives.

His career was tumultuous, but it was also challenging and ultimately, I assume, very rewarding, and not just in the monetary sense.   He died too soon, but thankfully for all of us, his legacy lives on and his ideas changed the way the world does things.

Here are a few videos, including one of the most memorable speeches ever, a commencement address he gave.

And last year's message from Tim Cook, Apple CEO to Apple employees, in remembrance of Steve.

"A message from Tim Cook, Apple's CEO

Steve's passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us. I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place.

One of the greatest gifts Steve gave to the world is Apple. No company has ever inspired such creativity or set such high standards for itself. Our values originated from Steve and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We share the great privilege and responsibility of carrying his legacy into the future.

I'm incredibly proud of the work we are doing, delivering products that our customers love and dreaming up new ones that will delight them down the road. It's a wonderful tribute to Steve's memory and everything he stood for."

An amazing man, who did amazing things.
