Reese Witherspoon is a perfect example of great casual style, and is almost a poster child for how to do it right. Even through her pregnancies she was perfectly pulled together, glowingly calm and collected.

Everything about her day to day wardrobe screams chic. She is very particular about which "trends" she chooses to try out, but mostly just sticks to simple basics and classic perfection.  You will often find her killing it in mix and match separates, perfectly-fitting jeans, simple and perfectly fitted dresses.  She works the classics, like navy and white, and mixes them with just the right pop of brights, and always has the perfect bag.
